In 2016 I decided I was going to start a food blog, but to do that I needed to learn photography, asap! So I bought a domain, created my website on WordPress, purchased a professional camera, and enrolled in the best in-person food photography course I could find. Some would call this “burning the boats”. There was no turning back now.
Years later, and a lot of work later, I am working as a full-time commercial and editorial food photographer. I also own a successful online culinary media company, Mom’s Dinner. These two worlds collide perfectly to create amazing recipes and tasty photography!
I live in the Kansas City area with my husband, John, and our two kids (Maddie & Kyle). I can’t forget to mention our “pandemic pup” Ollie, a dark black Whoodle (that’s a mix of a wheaten and a poodle). He is probably the most spoiled of everyone in the house…. he gets his fair share of fancy meats and cheeses from photo shoots and now turns his nose up to anything that isn’t gourmet. HA!
Yes, all the food is real. No, I don’t use motor oil to make my food look appetizing. And my favorite thing to shoot are cocktails, especially ones that include tequila!
Cheers!
